The immune system of humans is a highly effective defense mechanism. Its primary components, known as immunoglobulins, function as antibodies that bind to foreign particles like viruses and label them for rapid removal from the body. However, these antibodies do not act randomly; they adhere to a specific set of guidelines. Researchers have discovered that glycans, which are small sugar molecules, attach to our antibodies. Depending on the type of glycan present, the same antibody can transition from an anti-inflammatory role to a pro-inflammatory role.

What does the GlycanAge test measure?
Genos Glycoscience, one of the leading laboratories studying the nature of glycoproteins, developed a laboratory test to measure the presence of different glycans in humans. Based on the test results, they can determine the true biological age of a person, which is often starkly different from their chronological age. The GlycanAge test analyses the presence of G0, G2 and S glycans linked to the most common antibody in human blood – immunoglobulin G (IgG). IgGs marked with G0 glycans are pro-inflammatory and their levels generally increase with age and in inflammation-associated disease. On the other hand, G2 and S glycans promote protective, anti-inflammatory roles of IgG, and are therefore considered to be biomarkers of health and youthfulness. All three markers are used for calculation of the overall biological age of an individual.
The Rejuvenating Power of Analemma Water
In 2021, a GlycanAge study was conducted on 19 participants who consumed Aǹalemma water daily for 3 months, while keeping all other aspects of their lifestyle unchanged.
The research discovered that consuming Aǹalemma water resulted in a regeneration of up to 12 years in biological age for 17 out of 19 participants.
